Dix Neuf Laksour, Marrakech

Book Dix Neuf Laksour stay on a private Morocco trip

To put it simply, for a riad stay in Marrakech, you want to choose the western side of the medina. Why ? Location. Ksour, Dar El Bacha and Bab Doukala are the best neighbourhoods. Dix Neuf Laksour stands just 300 meters away from a taxi drop off point. Jemaa El Fna is 5 minutes walk away and so is the entrance to the souks. Even Yves Saint Laurent museum takes a 15 minutes walk. With only six double rooms and suites, at 19 Laksour you are guaranteed that riad intimacy, but if you’re looking for some kind of 1001- nights extravaganza, look elsewhere. White wicker chairs and chaise longue adorn the majestic colonnaded patio with its intricately carved columns and cedar wood ceilings, all oozing a passe Colonial vibe. African statuettes and black-and-white vintage portraits add to it. One of the particularities of this riad is how, upon entering though the front door, you descend a spriral staircase to then step into the patio and pool area, a good few meters under the street level. The generous pool proves comes in handy on a hot summer afternoon. Sebastien and Elodie efficiently manage the riad, but you won’t know it they’re there, as they leave front of the stage to Moustapha and his team. They couldn’t be more welcoming, hospitable and accommodating. Alcohol is served on site. Best visited all year round.
