Our luxury desert camp in the Sahara’s dunes of Erg Chebbi is secluded, safe and unique.
A night in the Sahara is the main draw in visiting Morocco. So it has to be unique. Carefully prepared. Not just any desert camp, but one remote enough, yet safe, deep in the dunes so you feel you are in the Sahara, not on the edge of it. After all, how likely are you to return soon ? And many of us have dreamt about this for years, if not our whole adult life. Our choice for the luxury camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi is a good 30 minute drive/ camel ride into the dunes, a cluster of a dozen tents grouped together with one tent where dinner is served. For even more luxurious options: Superior camp, Dome camp and Royal camp. Glamping in the Sahara doesn’t get much better.
Mind you, the regular 34 square meter tents in the Main Camp already come with amenities you can’t even fathom, given the coordinates: huge, comfortable beds, complemented by soft textiles, handcrafted furniture, bed side lamps and even heated mattress in the cold season . There are a few plugs around if you wish to recharge your mobile/ laptop, although wifi reception is scarce. And why would you need that, anyway ? The ensuite bathrooms come with hot shower, water basin and flush toilets. The Superior Camp and Royal Camp ( 78 square meter tents) even include air conditioning. The Moroccan menu is rated among the best on our guests’ private tour and dinner is followed by music around the fire as the sky is lit by millions of stars. Then, all there’s left to do is get inside the tent, zip the entrance and fall asleep, immersed in a silence so thick you could cut a strip through it. Alcohol is not available on site but you are free to bring your own. Best visited from September to June.
